Coastal Waste & Recycling is a locally owned and operated waste management and recycling company. We are experiencing explosive growth and with growth comes opportunity! We are currently adding a Safety Manager to be based in Rigeland, South Carolina or South Florida area and to serve our South Carolina, Georgia, and Northern Florida locations. This position will require over 50% travel.

Responsibilities

Safety is a core value at Coastal Waste & Recycling and this role will be pivotal in ensuring that our employees all go home safely every night.

We are looking for a Safety Manager that is proficient in conducting risk assessments, root cause analysis, and incident investigations. You will be supporting all of our locations across Northern FL, GA, and SC.

Typical responsibilities might include: 

• Investigating accidents, incidents, and near misses to determine root causes and develop corrective actions.
• Coaching and training district managers, supervisors, and front line employees on accident/injury prevention.
• Providing training and support to management and behind the wheel instructors to ensure new hire program is effective and performed per company guidelines.
• Coaching and training supervisors to complete thorough and effective safety observations.
• Providing managers and supervisors with the tools and training for company safety programs and initiatives.
• Monitoring completion of corporate related safety tasks.
• Supporting new acquisition integration as it related to EHS function.
• Working directly with operations to ensure adherence to the company’s health and safety programs.

Qualifications

Qualified candidates will have previous experience as a safety manager, specifically in the area of root cause analysis and preferably in the transportation industry. #CWRHP
